The Ann Arbor Folkdancers are non-profit, education-oriented, and dedicated to the enjoyment of international folk dancing and to the appreciation of other cultures through their dance.

On special occasions, we dance to the live music of The Ethnic Connection , Veselba, or Katun. At other times, we dance to recorded music drawn from the extensive collections of group members.

In spring 2009, we welcomed Katun, a relatively new ensemble in Ann Arbor whose music explores the melodies and rhythms of traditional Balkan music. Their lineup currently includes vocals, violin, cello, bouzouki, bass, and percussion.

Upcoming dates:

  • November 21, 2009 - Dancing to live music by Katun, and possibly some recorded music
  • December 5, 2009 - Dancing to live music by The Ethnic Connection
