April 4-6, 2008: Symposium "Folk Music Revival and the Dance-House Movement in Hungary" to be held at Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. All day Friday and Saturday: scholarly presentations on Hungarian folk music and dance in a European context. Friday 8 PM: concert and táncház, Téka Ensemble (Pál Havasréti, Csaba Ökrös, et al.). Saturday, 3-7 PM: dance workshop with instructors László Felföldi and Ágnes Fülemile with music by Téka. Sunday 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM: workshop on couple dances from Szék and another style TBD, same band and instructors as for Saturday. April 4-6, 2008: Scandinavian Music & Dance Weekend, Folklore Village, WI

April 11, 2008: Téka Ensemble (Pál Havasréti, Csaba Ökrös, et al.). concert, Hungarian - American Cultural Center, 26257 Goddard Road, Taylor, Michigan, 7:30 P.M. - ???? May 2-4, 2008: The Old World Dance Cooperative presents Sonia Dion & Cristian Florescu teaching Romanian dance at Camp High/Scope. They use newer Rom (Gypsy) music and also more traditional Romanian tunes and their dances cover a similarly wide range of styles. Material taught will be mainly line dances. Info: Rick King. July 9-13, 2008: 29th Door County Folk Festival, Sister Bay, Ephraim & Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin. Info

July 18-26, 2008: Csipke Tabor [Hungarian dance camp] 2008. Band: Gazsa Zenekar. Teachers: Orza Calin and Demeter Erika. Material: Gypsy dances from Orko (Transylvania) and dances from Magyarszovat (Mezőség). More info when available.

September 25-28, 2008: Tamburitza Extravaganza weekend, Westin Convention Center Hotel, Pittsburgh, PA. Sponsored by the Tamburitza Association of America.
